Another Pointless NES Mod; Again, I ask Why?

Saw this over at kotaku today as I'm sure you did too, you Russian bot. Creative? I guess. Some level of craftsmanship? Sure. But just because I can solder the cats ass shut doesn't make it right. Again we are faced with a...de-facing of classic nostalgia - for what? A wireless router? What's appealing about leaving an NES cartridge out in the open (since what would be the point of hiding it, right.) but to yet again cock-tease. With all these mods and "cool" shit people can turn old NES systems and cartridges into - why not make them f**king work again? That's impressive. That's cool. Wireless routers are ugly for a reason...I think...I don't know...who cares how they look they're just supposed to work. But of course I'm not one to hold back on any level of creativity and hands on work so if you feel the urge to do this visit: instructables.com.

Make that Old NES into a DVD Player; I ask Why?

I guess the hands on creativity and workmanship is noteworthy, but in the long run this is more of cock-tease. Let me explain briefly. A friend comes over, you have your sweet NES/DVD player out on display. Friends' first thought: "Dude, awesome, you have a NES?!" Your reply: "Not really...check...this...out..." Friend: Are you f**king kidding me? It's a DVD player?" ::all excitement lost:: Note, that reenactment was in quotes because it would actually happen.

It's harsh but true. If you have an old NES that doesn't work you have two options. 1) Make it work 2) Put it on the mantle as a display piece. I must say towards the end of this video - what the f**k is up with the in-out-in-out with the disc tray? We got it. It works. For those that actually think this is cool and want to get directions on how-to: Lifehacker

Super There Will Be Blood

Not to be confused with Super, There Will Be Blood - the danish 80's slasher film (don't google that I made it up), Super There Will Be Blood is an SNES / 16bit version of the timeless classic telling of Daniel Plainview and his oil adventures. Complete with milk shakes and bastards in baskets. Thanks to Tomfoolery Pictures we get to enjoy this retelling in more than classic fashion.

In all honesty I could care less about Just Dance 2. The only reason I am posting this trailer is because of how hilarious South Park was last night. Please, if you haven't watched it head over to South Park Studios and watch It's a Jersey Thing. On a side note, who do you think the first Jersey Shore cast member to die will be? My money is on Ronnie.

Hey guy, welcome to the coolest 32 seconds of your day. I am shocked how great Blur Studios is doing with these trailers. This is the part of the post that I am contractually obligated to trash talk George Lucas...but I just can't force myself to do it...I actually liked Revenge of the Sith...I mean, Attack of the Clones wasn't even that bad...

Fine! You win! Lucas is a soulless vapid money-hungry Faustian example of how success corrupts even the geekiest of us and can turn you into a talentless redundant obese joke of a man.

Bungie has just announced their first batch of DLC for Halo: Reach. Dubbed the Noble Map Pack, the DLC will ready for download on November 30th. Let's hope the maps reflect the 800 point price tag. Much like my ex-girlfriend, Reach's climax left a bad taste in my mouth. Let's hope this map pack sets things right. Head over to Bungie.net to take a look at some pics of the 3 new maps.

I guess if I were made of soda I'd think it was a good idea to jump off a staired structure onto a flag pole too. But I'm not and that's idiotic just to save some blonde bimbo who keeps getting kidnapped by the same reptilian asshole. But none of that changes how awesome this picture is. It's awesomeness even overshadows the fact that it's made out of Pepsi products. [thanks laura!]

NHL 10 is The Bane of My Existance, Yet I Love It

NHL 10. Great game. I've even reviewed and commented on how it's the best sports title out there. That's until recently. After taking a break from Red Dead Redemption - which is the cat's ass by the way - I jumped back into the NHL saddle..er..skates. After a disappointing and pathetic real life Bruins loss in the second round I needed some personal redemption and outlet. So I've been hammering away at a new season using a custom team which I already had a season going with - only difference is I've bumped it up a difficulty level. Apparently with this minor change I've come across all sorts of bugs. The above image being one. 1900? Really? So they're going to come back before they were even born? That sound is a fuse that just blew in my mind.

Holy Christ on a stick - talk about a 'can't wait' game. This trailer is just awesome, but I will admit I almost feel bad for those stormtroopers. Also as smaht as Vader seems. A handful of troopers in a closed off room are supposed to handle a bad ass Jedi?
