PS360 Is A Nice Attempt

We PS3 owners know you all in the Xbox crowd are jealous when it comes to a few key aspects of our hardware. Superior engineering and design, mostly. We sypothize. Microsoft just doesn't care about you the way Sony cares about us. They couldn't be bothered by taking the time to do the hardware right. A first step toward resolving this can be purchased on Ebay now. An industrious modder has taken the guts of a 360 and stuffed them into the elegant Piano Black case of the Playstation. Can you feel the envy? Place your bid! 12 others have I post this. [Ebay via Gizmodo]

Specifically For Tim, Achievement Unlocked.

The folks at Armor Games must know our dear friend and colleague Tim, or atleast his type. Achievements are huge for him. I'm not embellishing when I tell you he had me over to his place and fed me beer in the hope that I'd help him get a penalty shot. And damn it, we did get that penalty shot...together. Now there's a game tailored to his gaming sensibilities. The point isn't beating the level or the boss, it's the little things. Play it yourself here. You know you want credit for doing something pointles. I can't get enough, myself. [Armor Games via NOTCOT]

8Bit Jesus?!?! Okay, Maybe It Is That Time Of The Year.

We're all about classic 8bit sounds and chiptuning. We're not so hot on Christmas music or Jesus. Still, the angle of recreating classic holiday tunes with the 8bit sounds catches our attention enough to pass it along to you. Tis' the season, now go spend money. Santa needs you! Download the full 8-Bit Jesus album here for free. [NOTCOT.org]

[8bit Spotlight] A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. Games

Our spotlight this week points towards A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. Games, an independent game development studio that started in 2004 with two guys in a garage on the rainy coast of Vancouver, Canada. But, really, isn't that how it always starts? Currently they only have a few titles under their belt - which include Capcom published Rocketmen: Axis of Evil. A shooter where you play as a member of the Rocketmen team that joins the Alliance of Free Planets that blasts through waves of enemies from the Legion of Terra and Mars, of course. Rocketmen: Axis of Evil released back in March for Xbox Arcade and Playstation Network. There is also an expansion pack, Rocketmen: It Came From Uranus. Honestly, there is no reason for me to note that except it's a funny title. For more info on A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. Games visit their site www.acronymonline.com.

Contra: What If?

Here we have Black20's idea of what Contra would look like if Uwe Boll directed it. It's a clever video that came to our attention from Slashfilm. If you care about film at all, you should be checking that site regularly. It is much more readable and tolerable than aintitcool or chud. Enjoy the video. You just got Contra'd!

Mark Hamill Is Arkham's Joker

In case you were worried, and if you were you really need to check your priorities, Mark Hamill will be providing the Joker's voice in the upcoming Batverse game Arkham Asylum. Heath Ledger, who garnered audience and critical praise for his turn in the role in last Summer's The Dark Knight was unavailable, due to accidental overdose. Hamill has been doing Joker voicework in various Batman animated projects since 1992. You may recognize Hamill from the late 70's/early 80's space opera Star Wars, where he played a whiny farm boy with magical powers. Also returning is Kevin Conroy, whom many consider to be the definative Batman orator. Arkham Asylum is due in 2009 and will be available on XBox 360 and PS3.
