BioShock Available for Mac October 7

I can't imagine many Mac owners really caring about this. But Feral Interactive will be releasing the critically acclaimed BioShock for Mac. I guess that's something to get excited about, but if you're that much into gaming you own a console or better yet a gaming PC built to the 9s. (is that even a saying) I also feel that Mac owners think gaming is below them and is only something that would interfere with them sending creative emails or creatively surfing the web. Who knows I may be wrong. If you own a Mac here's more info.

Sims 3 First Expansion Pack Coming in November

The Sims 3 World Adventures

I'm sorry but this screen grab might be the worst one ever to use for PR for a new expansion pack. Ahhhh you see this? What I'm pointing at? That's not an artifact. It's a thing and it's full of stereotypes!!! Anyways...EA announced today that the first expansion pack for the monster hit Sims 3 is in development and will ship to retailers worldwide the week of Nov. 16. Sims 3 World Adventures which includes going to Egypt and yelling at the locals, will allow players to take their Sims on adventures outside of Sunset Valley and Riverview. Along with exploring Egypt players can immerse themselves in open-ended gameplay in cities of China and France. For more info on the expansion pack visit the official site.

It's Official; Command and Conquer 4 Announced

Command and Conquer

You may have heard yesterday that EA had announced C&C4 accidentally through twitter - with a dead link to the press release. Well today it's official - EA LA has announced after 15 years and 30 million games sold they will be bringing the Tiberium series to an, of course, epic conclusion in Command & Conquer 4. "We are thrilled to bring the dramatic Tiberium saga to a conclusion in Command & Conquer 4. This game is designed to give fans all the answers they’ve been looking for,” said Mike Glosecki, Lead Producer of Command & Conquer 4 at EA Los Angeles. The title looks to ship in 2010 - if that's not vague enough for you - and introduce innovations to the classic including new class-based gameplay, mobile bases and persistent player progression throughout all game modes. C&C4 will also include a new co-op mode and a new 5v5 objective-based multiplayer mode. You can follow the development team on twitter or visit the official site. Also, Gametrailers TV will exclusively reveal the first cinematic trailer for C&C4 in its July 23rd episode on SPIKE TV.

Starcraft 2 This Year and Confused Swedish Fish

Swedish Fish
While the rumored release of Starcraft II this year isn't breaking news, the fact that the Swedish have AV technical problems at the world's largest computer festival is. Lead designers Chris Sigaty and Dustin Browder of Blizzard sat down at the DreamHack computer festival to field some questions about the upcoming title and some. Other than the game being released this year they also revealed that the soundtrack will be performed by a full-scale epic orchestra. You can check out the full 18 min interview on press2play.tv. Don't be afraid at first if you can't understand them - it's actually quite entertaining. Especially the part when they have the technical problem the two interviewers actually look like confused Swedish fish. Gor lite ovasen!! Official StarCraft II website.

Sims 3 Prove People Have a Voyeur Obsession

Sims 3
I think the one thing that the Sim series, The Sims and SimCity, has proven about people is that we like control. Alot. Both series are hugely successful and continue to be with Sims 3. EA announced today that the latest title had the biggest launch week in franchise history selling more than 1.4 million PC/Mac units. On top of that there was over 7 million downloads of player created content. I think the success of Sim games is attributed to it's appeal to both casual and hardcore gamers along with that sense of control we're given to the last detail. Christ, there is even a God mode in SimCity 4 - and all you have to do is click a button to make it happen. By the way EA can we get a new SimCity game - I'm dying for one. Manage A Playmate To Stardom in Playboy Manager

Jolt Online Gaming and Playboy Enterprises will be launching a Massively Casual Online Game (MCOG - duh) entitled Playboy Manager this summer. The online game will have you playing a crack talent agent managing the career of upcoming / wannabe Playboy models. Competing against thousands of other players - the goal is to get your model a permanent room in the Playboy Mansion. Something I think we all dream of. It'll be a mix of trading card and turn based gaming and will feature exclusive, semi-naked, content from Playboy. The game will be playable for free at www.playboymanager.com, for now you can pre-register and win one of several lifetime subscriptions to the famed magazine.

Sneeze Is All About Spreading The Germs

Sometimes you have to just laugh at the sh** people come up with. Enter the flash based game Sneeze - which is of course also known as Stop Swine Flu! It's a simple concept - infect as many people as possible with one sneeze. There are three different types of people to infect; children - whom are easy to infect and help spread the virus quickly, adults - are a bit tougher to infect but help spread the virus quickly as well, then there are the elderly - easy to infect but don't spread the virus as quickly. Commissioned by the Wellcome Trust, the world's second largest charity, as a way to teach young people about germs and colds. What better way to teach kids/teenagers about something - put it in a game form. I'd love to see a safe sex flash game - get the condom on before she gets bored! Check out Sneeze at Routes Games.

Capcom to Release Triple Threat Gaming for Windows Based PCs

Starting this July Capcom is going to release it's big three titles for Windows Based PC systems. Street Fighter IV and Bionic Commando will be released in July with Resident Evil 5 coming later in the year. So all you PC gamers rejoice - as some publishers have not forgotten about you. Each title will have some PC specific features including some 3D action via NVIDIA's new GeForce 3D vision technology for RE5. Glasses, like batteries, sold separately.

Crysis Wars Free Trial Period This Month

EA and Crytek are recruiting players for a free trial period of Crysis Wars. Starting today through April 17 players can play all of Crysis Wars online for free including the game's three action-packed multiplayer modes and all 23 maps. The trial, like what all free trial periods do, is to give players a sample of the "signature action and visuals that only the Crysis series can deliver." EA and Crytek are planning on releasing Crysis Maximum Edition which will be a compliation of all three Crysis games in one box. Holy crap. That'll be available May 5th aka Cinco de Mayo aka the day before my birthday - so don't forget. Also available is Crytek's MOD SDK editor tool which basically is a way for them to get free content creation for the community. In a less negative outlook its a tool that will allow players to 'tap into their inner game designer' and create maps and mods for Crysis Wars for both multi and single player. All generated maps for multiplayer will be accessible by the entire community during the free trial period. So get designing. For all info Crysis visit the Crysis community.

Members of Blue Oyster Cult and Warhammer Online Team Up

Members Eric Bloom and Richie Castellano of the first Death Metal Band - their claim not ours - Blue Oyster Cult (don't forget Umlauts over the O) are collaborating with members of Warhammer Online: Age of Reconning to produce an original song for the online game. The track entitled 'Kiss My Axe (While I Drink My Beer) which sounds more like a Spinal Tap song, is to celebrate the recent launch of the new Dwarf Slayer career. You can check out what their, sans cowbell, collaboration created here: www.warhammeronline.com/music/

Red Alert 3: Uprising expansion available for PC download

EA has announced today that Command and Conquer Red Alert 3: Uprising is available for PC download at the EA store as well as other online digital retailers. Uprising is a single player expansion to the award winning RTS Command and Conquer Red Alert 3. The expansion pack will place players in the aftermath of Red Alert 3 with 4 new mini-campaigns, new plot twists and the all new Commander's Challenge mode. Of course there is the series trademark live action cinematics with returning performances by Jamie Chung, "Nature Boy" Ric Flair (woooooo), Malcolm McDowell and Holly Valance. With returning favorites Gemma Atkinson and Ivana Milicevic. I wonder why they're favorites? For more info check out the official site.

Casual classic tale with a new horror twist

The Path is "a short horror game" by the indie developer Tale of Tales that is based on Little Red Ridinghood. The Path is a very casual game that uses familiar realtime 3D and is designed with accessible controls as it's aimed for those "who have been neglected by the industry," according to the game's developers. In The Path the player controls six sisters who are sent out one by one to bring their sickly grandmother a loaf of breed and a bottle of wine. Of course there are distractions while on this adventure and a wolf, right? The title will be available for download on PC on March 18th. A trailer for the game has been recently posted that really sums up the game's eerie, strange, disjointed style of story telling, which is really what it's about. Check out the trailer here.

Oh No! More Invaders from Space; remake of classic arcade hit

The PC title was created by indie developer Lodgia and is a retro remake of the classic arcade hit. Gameplay follows the original but with a few enhancements and introduces power ups, extra weapons, online highscores, new music and...cattle? You can check out Oh No! More Invaders from Space for free on Archive Games. Archive Games is an online digital game distributor that looks to bring lesser known titles into the limelight.

Hacker: Revolution Untold available for Mac

Here's a bone for all you Mac users out there. By the way just to get this out there a PC can do the same things as a Mac and a Mac the same things a PC can do. It just comes down to preference. Also technically a Mac is a PC - that's just great marketing messing with your head. Now that I've started a computing war lets get to what's really important - the game. Hacker Evolution: Untold is not a new gaming concept but looks like an improved version of it. I've seen 'hacker-esque' games before but none as polished as this. The title has you playing as Brian Spencer a young programmer working for a company he started with some friends - which has developed the technology that has pretty much taken over the world. When you are framed for the crime its up to you to prevent computers from becoming the next dominant species and clear your name by using your hacker skills. There are various features including custom level design - a modding editor is included to help make that easier (PC only). Although the story is kinda cliche I'm totally into the concept of the title and is right up the alley of programmers alike. Visit the official game site for more info, screenshots and a demo version.

Steampunk MMORPG NeoSteam taking Europe

Steampunk, another [8bit Favorite], has reached a new level with NeoSteam a 3D MMORPG that falls in line with your Everquests and WOW except its steampunk. It actually looks pretty cool and a European version has recently started. And if you're in the Europe area and signed up for the US version your character can be transported to the new servers and game. How's that for service? I'll be honest I'm not one for the MMORPG - but I also haven't played one in awhile so who knows.
